    Henry Joseph Parsons, house painter of Leichhardt, Sydney, enlisted July 2 1916 aged 22 at Dubbo Depot and served with the 13th Battalion, 21st Reinforcement in France. He embarked on the Ceramic 7 Oct. 1916, arriving in Plymouth 21 Nov. 1916. On 8 Feb. 1917 he embarked on the Princess Victoria for France.
    He was taken prisoner along with 1170 other Australians at Reincourt on 11 Apr. 1917 when the Fourth Division, including the 13th Battalion, assaulted the Hindenburg Line in the First Battle of Bullecourt. After being treated for head wounds at Munster (Lager) Hospital he was interned at Soltau, Germany. He was repatriated from Ripon 31 Dec. 1918 and returned to Australia on the Leicestershire 3 May 1919
