  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Captain E. Little, a barrister of Vaucluse, New South Wales enlisted with No. 8 New South Wales Reinforcements aged 32, 27 April 1918 and embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board SS Feldmarschall, 19 June 1918. He served in France with the 35th Battalion, A.I.F. and returned to Australia on the Orontes, 1920

    This collection was acquired from Mr Isidoor Berkelouw in three consignments, accessioned separately and located together at MLMSS 2655: 4 diaries dated 24 December 1918-2 August 1920, presented March 1974. Accessioned as MLMSS 2655. 1 diary dated 24 December 1916-15 March 1917, purchased July 1974. Accessioned as MLMSS 2655 ADD-ON 691 and located with MLMSS 2655. 1 diary dated 19 June-10 December 1918, presented October 1975. Accessioned as MLMSS 2655 ADD-ON 814 and located with MLMSS 2655. The 6 diaries are now arranged chronologically by content. Thus the former ADD-ON 691 is MLMSS 2655 / Item 1; ADD-ON 814 is Item 2; and the 4 diaries accessioned as MLMSS 2655 are Items 3-6.
