    Alexander Carey was a senior lecturer in the Department of Applied Psychology at the University of New South Wales from the 1960s until his death in 1987 aged 64. He was particularly interested in sociology, industrial psychology, the psychology of international relations, humanism and corporate propaganda. He was also prominent in left-wing circles and active in the anti-Vietnam War movement during the 1960s and 1970s.
