    Corporal S. J. D. Stutley, a Methodist minister, enlisted aged 23 in Adelaide, South Australia, on Sept. 1915 and embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A32 Themistocles on 28 January 1916. He served as a gunner in Egypt 7-25 Mar. 1916 and in France and Belgium, 23 Mar.-9 Sept. 1916, with the 17th Battery, Australian Field Artillery. He was invalided back to Australia on the Nestor, arriving 21 Sept. 1917
