  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Lieutenant Malcolm Shore Stanley, a civil engineer, was a New Zealander, born in Lancaster, England and living in Melbourne, Victoria. He enlisted aged 28 years, embarked from Sydney, NSW on board RMS Osterley, 10 Feb. 1917 and served with the 10th Field Company, Engineers, A.I.F., in France and Belgium. He was awarded the Military Cross in June 1918 for 'conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty' under heavy fire and returned to Australia on HT Khyber, 31 Mar. 1919
