    Private Leslie Kemnitz Stuart, bank clerk of Goulburn, NSW, enlisted in the 19th Battalion, A.I.F. at the age of 20 in Liverpool, Sydney, 23 Mar. 1915. He embarked on board HMAT Ceramic, 25 June 1915 and served with the 5th Australian Machine Gun Company in Gallipoli and France. He was wounded in France on 5 Aug. 1916 and returned to Australia on SS Homeward, 31 July 1918
