    John Philipson Scott, accountant of Potts Point, Sydney, New South Wales was born in Northumberland, England. He enlisted 26 May 1916, embarked on SS Port Napier, 17 Nov. 1916 and served in France as a private in the 45th Battalion, A.I.F.
