  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Corporal Clifford Mervyn Geddes, bank clerk of Chatswood, N.S.W. embarked from Sydney, NSW on board HMAT A14 Euripides, 20 Oct. 1914 and served with the 13th Battalion and 56th Battalion, 10th Reinforcement in Gallipoli and France. He became ill with dysentery at Gallipoli, was hospitalised in Malta and Cairo and was transferred to Australia on the Suffolk, 29 Jan. 1916. He returned to the war, embarking on HMAT A14 Euripides 31 Oct. 1917 for England and France where he fought in the battles of Hamel and Amiens. He returned to Australia on the Mahia, 20 July, 1919. His two brothers, Stanley Arthur Geddes and Aubrey Allen Geddes also served with the A.I.F.
