    These original sketches by Sir Thomas Mitchell are preliminary drawings for the plates at DG D26 which were later published by James Wyld in his `Maps and plans showing the principle movements, battles & seiges in which the British Army were engaged during the War from 1808 to 1814 in the Spanish Peninsula and the South of France'. Located at RB/X355.4846/1; RB/Q355.4846/1 (Appendix)

    No dates are inscribed on works. The dates are estimated based on Sir Thomas Mitchell's recruitment as second lieutenant in the 95th regiment serving in the Peninsula Wars. Finally arriving in Australia after gaining the position of Assistant Surveyor-General of New South Wales
