    William Charles Allen, a motor salesman of Randwick, New South Wales enlisted 7 May 1917, advancing his age from 17 to 21 and embarked from Sydney on board SS Canberra, 16 Nov. 1917. He served with 1st-4th Signal Troops - September, 1917, Reinforcements in Egypt and Palestine and returned to Australia on SS Königin Luise, Dec. 1919
