    This volume contains mainly letters received by Philip Gidley King and copies of letters sent by him. Correspondents include Lord Grenville, Henry Dundas, Sir Joseph Banks, Francis Barrallier, John Harris, Nicolas Baudin, Thomas Jamison, Captain Colnett, William Paterson, Thomas Moore, Robert Campbell, Rev. Samuel Marsden, David Collins, Thomas Arndell, Charles Grimes, and Richard Atkins.

    Other material in this volume includes James Grant's Remarks on the Hunter River, documents relating to the court martial of Hobby and Bayly, journal of an expedition to the Cowpastures (possibly by George Caley), General Order regarding the Hawkesbury Flood, Notes on the state of NSW, documents regarding the Spanish ships St Francisco de Paula and Estramina, Instructions regarding illegal boarding of ships in port, Instructions concerning illicit sale of spirits, and Instructions concerning the sale of medicines by hospital employees.
