  • General note

This consignment of papers was received in 1975 and underwent further arrangement and description in November-December 2005. Two subsequent small consignments, ADD-ON 952 (1976) and ADD-ON 1028 (1977) had previously been incorporated with ADD-ON 834. The initial accession of the papers of Kathleen Sherrard, also of 1975, is located at MLMSS 2950, K 48772-K 48775. A copy of Sherrard's typescript autobiography relating to her Melbourne childhood was received in 1980 and is located at ADD-ON 1328. In 1982 the Geological and Mining Museum, Sydney, transferred to the Library a series of Sherrard's notebooks on her fossil collection located at ADD-ON 1533. In 1975 Howard M. Sherrard had also lent for copying his genealogical notes on the Sherrard, Macoun, Gault and Harston Families, compiled 1965-1966, and located at MLMSS 3083.

Related pictorial material separated from the above manuscript consignments comprises two accessions. Photographs of geologists originally received with MLMSS 2950 are located at P1/David, Prof. Tannett W. Edgeworth (2), P1/Andrews, Ernest Clayton and P1/Shearsby, A. J., ca. 1940-1958 (2). Two photographs of Gladesville Bridge originally received with ADD-ON 1028 are located at SPF/Sydney-Bridges-Gladesville Bridge, ca. 197- (2).
