  In 1849, Conrad Martens displayed four oil painting views of Burrangalong Caves at the Society for the Promotion of the Fine Arts of Australia Exhibition held in Sydney. This work was among these as well as: 'Burrangalong Cavern' and 'Stalagmite Columns at the Southern Entrance of the Burrangalong Cavern (both held by the Art Gallery of South Australia); and 'Interior of Burrangalong Cavern' (Dixson Galleries collection). -- Reference: The Artist and the Patron / by Patricia McDonald and Barry Pearce.
