  • General note

    No.1 has an with additional handwritten note beneath typescript regarding the identity of persons in No.2 and is initialled, "M.P"
    No.2 is similar, though differs, an oil painting by B. Duterrau titled, "The Conciliation", (held in The Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, Hobart refer to the reproduction in B. Smith, "Australian painting, 1788-1970, Melbourne: O.U.P. 1971, p.50 ML ref. 759.29/12B1).
    Nos. 8, 9, 11. The publications details are missing from these prints but can be found in C. Craig, "The Engravers of Van Diemen's Land", Hobart: Tasmanian Historical Research Association, 1961, p.57 (ML ref. 769.29/1A2).
    Other copies of Nos. 1-7 and 10 are located in the volume, "The Aborigines of Tasmania A Series of Original Etchings and Sketches ..." (PXA 2004 Mitchell Library). Additional copes of portraits of Nos. 2-6 are located at, "Tasmanian sketches, including portraits of Aborigines, ca. 1835" (PXA 613 Mitchell Library).
