General note

The original sketches in this album were assumed to be later copies of ca. 1820s drawings and were previously attributed to Edward Mason (b. 1847) (see note by Library Officer, 1962 in front of album). It is now thought (2006) the drawings are not copies and possibly? the work of Edward Mason, clerk to magistrates, Liverpool; merchant and landholder. -- Reference: Colonial Secretary Index, 1788-1825, State Records NSW.
Molle's Mains, Minto was the residence of William Howe.
No.20 is not titled but appears to be a different view of No.19.
Nos. 36 and 38 have yellow borders.
Inside front cover is a paper label, "Angus & Robertson, / 89 Castlereagh St., Sydney / Between King & Market Sts."
"D.S. Mitchell" signature on front endpaper.
