  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    A. J. Moore, born in Stafford, England, was an ironmonger of Milson's Point, Sydney and 28 years old when he enlisted at Liverpool, May 1915. He embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A11 Ascanius, 10 Nov. 1915. He was a stretcher bearer with the 8th Infantry Brigade, 8th Field Ambulance Sections B and C of the Australian Imperial Forces and was wounded in action in France, 26 Sept. 1917. He was awarded the Military Medal for bravery and returned to Australia on the Lancashire, 2 April 1919
