    The 3 brothers, Rupert, Robert Rex and Rodney Nixon served as privates in the Australian Imperial Forces.

    Rupert Charles Clive Wallace Nixon, a sailor, was born in Balmain, New South Wales and aged 21 when he enlisted, 29 Sept. 1914. He embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board Transport A38 Ulysses, 22 Dec. 1914 and served as a signaller in the 13th Battalion, 28 Nov. 1914-28 May 1919. He was wounded in Gallipoli, 3 May 1915, invalided to Australia on the Suevic, 8 Oct. 1915 and again embarked from Sydney on the Port Nicholson, 8 Nov. 1916. He was wounded in France, 6 Apr. 1918 and 8 Aug. 1918 and returned to Australia on the Mahia, 4 June 1919

    Robert Rex Nixon, a clerk of Neutral Bay, Sydney, New South Wales, was born in Adelaide, South Australia and enlisted at Liverpool aged 18 years, 6 May 1915. He embarked from Sydney on board HMAT A63 Karoola, 16 June 1915 and served in the 4th, 56th and 61st Battalion, 21 May 1915-May 1919. He returned to Australia on the Port Macquarie, 27 May 1919

    Victor Rodney Nixon, a seaman was born in Balmain, New South Wales and aged 21 years when he enlisted in the 56th Battalion, at Liverpool, 9 June 1915. He embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A54 Runic on 9 August 1915 and was returned on the Ceramic for medical reasons, 27 Jan 1916. On 11 Mar. 1916 he embarked for Egypt on board HMAT A32 Themistocles and transferred from the 57th to the 56th Battalion. He was wounded in action in France, 2 Apr. 1917 and returned to Australia on HT Suevic, 20 Nov. 1917 and discharged as medically unfit 23 Feb. 1918
