  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Walter Bruce Rainsford, clerk, was born in Wahroonga, Sydney. He enlisted aged 18 years, 15 Oct. 1914 and embarked from Sydney on board Transport A55 Kyarra, 28 Nov. 1914. He served in Egypt and France and helped in the formation of the Imperial Scouts Organisation. His diaries were compiled whilst sergeant with the Australian Army Medical Corps and the 14th Field Ambulance. He returned to Australia 23 Oct. 1918
