    James McKenzie, an ambulance assistant, was born in Scotland and enlisted at Victoria Barracks, Sydney at the age of 27. He embarked from Sydney on board Transport A55 Kyarra on 28 Nov. 1914 and served with the Army Medical Corps Oct. 1914 at Gallipoli and in France with the 5th Field Ambulance, returning to Australia on the Port Sydney, 8 Oct. 1918
