    L. E. Threlkeld, 1788-1859, a missionary in the Pacific Islands until 1824, 1825-1841 conducted missions to the Aborigines in the Lake Macquarie district, New South Wales. He studied the Aboriginal language with the assistance of the tribal leader, Biraban, and published a grammar book in 1834
