    Thomas Joseph Cleary, electrician of Camperdown, New South Wales enlisted at Sydney 14 Oct. 1915 and embarked from Sydney on board HMAT A15 Star Of England, 8 Mar. 1916. He served as a private in the Australian Imperial Forces, transferring from 17th Battalion, 10th Reinforcement to the 2nd Pioneer Battalion, May 1916. He was stationed in Egypt Apr. - May 1916 and later served in France and Belgium. He returned to Australia on the Nestor, 5 July 1919
