  James Bennett, horse-breaker of Manly, New South Wales embarked from Sydney on board HMAT A29 Suevic, 21 Dec. 1914 and served with the 6th Australian Light Horse, C Squadron in Egypt. He returned to Australia 20 Oct. 1915

  Diary includes descriptions of voyage of S.S. Suevic from Sydney to Alexandria, of life in camp near Cairo, Egypt, of action in the Dardanelles and of the voyage back to Sydney on the hospital ship Kanowna
