R. J. Drummond, a clerk of Redfern, Sydney enlisted on 23 May 1916 aged 26 years and embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT Beltana on 25 Nov.1916. He embarked for France, June 1917 and served with the 5th Divisional Australian Motor Transport Company in France and Belgium, returning to Australia on HT Valencia, 15 Sept. 1919
