  • Scope and Content
    The artist is standing close to what is now the Vaucluse Reservoir. In the left hand corner can be seen the famous Henrietta Villa on Point Piper. The windmills on the ridge of Woolloomooloo are silhouetted against the skyline.

    Painting was owned by Gideon Lang, a wealthy pastoralist. He took it to England when he returned there in 1858.
