    Argues Bligh's right to claim a pension amounting to half his salary as Governor of New South Wales. Evidence submitted includes extracts from official correspondence signed by Edward Cooke Under-Secretary of State and Lord Castlereagh together with a brief resume of Bligh's naval career including his term as Governor of New South Wales. Also includes an undated newscutting `Table of the Allowance to the Several Officers in the Royal Navy...' and on verso a partial list of vessels captured or destroyed by ships of the Royal Navy.     Contains four separately printed instructions and tables for astronomical observations (published in 1769), bound together with notes, calculations etc. written in the margins and on front fly leaf and interleaved pages mostly in Bligh's hand and signed or initialled by him. Three of the printed texts are signed and dated 'Wm Bligh 1775'. Probably accompanied him on his voyage with Captain James Cook, 1776-1780.
    Manuscript material from front fly leaf to back of volume:
    a. Inscription by former owner 'The book I met with and purchased for 4d at a Broker's shop in High Street, Gravesend, in Oct. 1822...'
    b. 'A Table for the ready Projection of a Mercator's Chart.'

    g. 'Bounty's Track from England towards Otaheite, by Capt Wm Bligh'. Log account, 24 Dec. 1787 - 24 Apr. 1789. Not in Bligh's hand.
    h. 'Extract from "A Narrative of the Mutiny on bd HMS Bounty, & the subsequent voyage of a part of the crew in the ship's boat...written by Lt. Wm Bligh...' Transcribed 15 May 1822. Not in Bligh's hand. (Call No.: SAFE/DLMS 186)
