  • Collection history
    This collection of pictorial material was passed down through the family of Mrs Elizabeth Paterson nee Driver (1770-1839). Elizabeth Driver married soldier, explorer and lieutenant-governor William Paterson (1755-1810) in 1789. In 1814 Elizabeth became the second wife of soldier and lieutenant-governor Francis Grose, (1758?-1814). Elizabeth lived in retirement at Liverpool, England. Miss Helen Lacy Banning was the great-niece of Elizabeth Paterson.
