  • General note

Known as "Big Lizzie", no. 301 New York type Stepless Car was said to have been imported for use on proposed interurban lines. It was the first all-enclosed tram in Brisbane and first with two trolley-poles. Scrapped 1935. The short life was due to the non-standard design, the weight (17 tons) and service difficulties. Photographed in front of the Overland Room. There was another of this type in Perth, although it had a different body. -- Information supplied by A.F. Watson (Nov 1989)
