    Private James Baillie, a labourer of North Sydney, New South Wales, was 28 years old when he enlisted, 22 Dec. 1914 and embarked from Sydney on board HMAT A48 Seang Bee, 11 February 1915. He was a member of the 13th Battalion, 4th Infantry Brigade. A.I.F. He fought throughout the Gallipoli campaign from the first landing on 25 April 1915 to the final withdrawal on 20 December 1915. He was wounded in action, 11 Aug. 1916 and returned to Australia on the Benalla, 13 Feb. 1917
  • Scope and Content
    Diary describes the voyage from Sydney to Suez on the troopship Seang Bee, training in Egypt, landing at Gallipoli and service there, and return to Egypt.
