The State Office Block was a major office development to be undertaken by the Public Works Department to accommodate government offices. In 1960, Ken Woolley was appointed project architect. The building featured solid concrete construction, and dark-tinted windows recessed behind square, bronze-clad columns. Now considered uneconomical, the building is currently being demolished and a new complex, designed by Renzo Piano, will occupy the site -- Exhibition caption, 1997 - Subject
