Sir Walter Edward Davidson was Governor of Seychelles Islands, 1904-1912, Newfoundland, 1913-1917, and New South Wales, 1918-1923. He was married to Lady Margaret Davidson nee Fielding. Her brother was Major-General Sir Geoffrey Percy Thynne Fielding
