    Simeon Henry Pearce (1821-1886) was the inaugural mayor of Randwick, following its incorporation in 1859. He was again mayor in 1866-1868 and 1882. He supported the building of the Randwick Asylum for the Relief of Destitute Children in 1856 and was a founding director and sometime president of the board. He visited his birthplace in England in 1881
  • Scope and Content
    1881; illuminated address presented to Simeon Pearce by the directors of the Society for the Relief of Destitute Children on the occasion of his departure for England. The address includes a coloured drawing of the Randwick Asylum for the Relief of Destitute Children. The artist's inscription is C. Relph (Call No.: MLMSS 6395)
