    VOLUME 1
    1865-1878 [early apprentice drawings including designs for stump extractor, card shuffler, various air pumps and gauges, capstan, calipers, pedespedes [early rollerblades], elipseograph and sympalmographs. Also designs for an outrigger yacht, "Phoenix"; various self-propelling boats; and a wooden flap from his shoes for walking on water, ca. 1870] (Call No.: CY 3628, frames 123-326)
