  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    The Royal Australian Historical Society was founded in 1901. Initially named the Australian Historical Society, its aim was to document Australian history through research, writing, and collecting. Additionally, the Society sought to disseminate knowledge through public lectures, excursions, and publications. The Society's Journal was first published in 1906 and became a leading publication of its kind. Areas of interest included exploration, white settlement, political history, and public figures primarily in relation to New South Wales -- Reference : Much Writing, Many Opinions.
